Sarah Grueneberg to "Moonlight" at The Catbird Seat with Chef Ryan Poli

Sarah Grueneberg to "Moonlight" at The Catbird Seat with Chef Ryan Poli

Back in April, The Catbird Seat welcomed its first guest chef in the 2018 “Moonlighting” Guest Chef Series. Chef Marc Vetri came to Nashville from Philadelphia and prepared a jaw-dropping dinner with Catbird Seat Chef Ryan Poli that sold out faster than you can read this sentence.

We’re excited to announce the next chef in the 2018 Guest Chef series “Moonlighting” at The Catbird Seat is Chef Sarah Grueneberg of Monteverde Restaurant & Pacificio in Chicago. She’ll be making an appearance on July 21st and we can’t wait.

Now, I don’t know Sarah but I’m super excited to meet her. She seems like the kind of person I could hang with. She grew up in Houston as an only child and credits the Food Network with helping her realize that she could have an actual profession as a chef. And that she has! She graduated from culinary school in 2001 and by 2003 she was named the youngest female sous chef at Brennan’s of Houston.  In 2005 she moved to Spiaggia in Chicago and started as a line cook. After just five short years she had worked her way up to Executive Chef. During her time in that role, Spiaggia was awarded one Michelin Star for three consecutive years. Sarah competed in the 9th season of Bravo’s “Top Chef” and placed 2nd. In 2017 she was awarded a James Beard Foundation Award for Best Chef: Great Lakes region. Phew! She’s sure got some tricks up her sleeve!

She and Chef Ryan Poli became friends when they were both living in Chicago, so it seemed natural to get her down to Nashville to share the kitchen and have a fun, interactive dinner. The five-course collaborative menu will be Italian-inspired and sure to include Chef Sarah’s signature handmade pastas. Both chefs prepare dishes based on their world travels, so we’re sure to see a wide array of flavors when they combine their traveling experiences on the 21st.

To book reservations for the dinner with Sarah Grueneberg on July 21, please visit The Catbird Seat website, select reservations, and then select Sarah Grueneberg Guest Chef Dinner. Cheers!
