The Steakhouse Lunch: Now Available at Merchants Restaurant
In 2013, Merchants restaurant was named in Worth magazine’s annual list of “Power Lunch Restaurants.” Weekday after weekday, Merchants’ Bistro is bustling for lunch - it’s almost like an oasis on Broadway: somewhere to get a really great sandwich or salad without the debauchery typically found on Lower Broad. It’s buzzy, it’s fun, it’s energetic; it’s the perfect locale for a quick lunch meeting outside of the office, leaving you with just enough time to get back to work feeling really great. BUT. There is a but. What about those lunch meetings you want to be a little more impressive? Where you want that steakhouse experience versus the deli around the corner. Where it’s a little more quiet and you can dig a little deeper with a little more privacy. What about those lunch meetings where you want less buzz and more meaningful conversation?
Over the years, the folks at Merchants have been asked about this time and time again -- and they finally decided it was time to heed the need. The downtown staple has expanded its 2nd floor dining room hours to include lunchtime, offering your steakhouse lunch favorites from 11-2pm, 7 days a week.
"Steakhouse lunch favorites...what does that mean?" Glad ya asked.
Think various salad, sandwich and entree options...plus they’ve got onion rings that are literally to. die. for. The menu also features two soups, a wide variety of steak options, and some killer seafood specials as well. Our favorite? The Working Lunch. It’s basically a choose your own adventure 3-course menu for $25.

Fun fact: Merchants was popular stop for traveling salesman in the early 1900’s. 25 cents would set them up with room and board. Another 25 cents would tack on a hot meal to the affair. Appropriately, Merchants was actually one of the first restaurants in Nashville to offer lunch, which was not a common option back in those days. Funny how history has a way of repeating itself, eh?
