Henrietta Red Hosts 3rd Annual Oyster Roast
Henrietta Red is throwing its *third annual* Oyster Roast on Sunday, October 14th, and we’re pretty damn sure it’ll be the best one yet! Of course this favorite fall affair will feature plenty of the molluscs for which this event is named (oysters), but this year the team is upping the ante with even more goodies for guests to enjoy. From an entire hog to live local music, this courtyard affair will be one you won’t want to miss.
Although in years past Henrietta Red has partnered up with oyster roasters to help bare the workload that is roasting and distributing these salty sea-treats, this year the team at Henrietta Red is taking on the fiery task solo - and with gusto. However, just because the in-house oyster gurus will be manning the oysters, does not mean they’ll be acting alone in preparing all the goodies — nor does it mean oysters are the only thing that’ll be on the table! While Henrietta Red will be providing both raw and roasted oysters, chef Julia Sullivan and her team will also prepare an assortment of veggie-heavy sides as well as some very tasty desserts.
But that’s not all: this year Henrietta Red has brought some friends on board to help out with the rest.
To bring some carnivorous flare to the oyster party, Bare Bones Butcher will be preparing a whole hog for the occasion. But the butchers are preparing said pig in a different way than you’d probably think: instead of going barbecue-style and smoking the whole animal on-site, owners and butchers Wesley Adams and Patrick Davidson will sharpen their knives and break down the beast into parts. From there, every piece of the animal will be prepared differently: you’ll get sausage, porchetta, roasted hams, and more. Talk about #HogHeaven.
Oh, and did we mention the live music? Because there will be live music. Local Nashville group Alanna Royale is set to play an entire hour-long set! A mixture of “classic-minded R&B and soul music for the modern age, it’s a sound rooted in big melodies, blasts of brass, percussive punch, and old-school grooves.” Need we say more? Psst - you might recognize their song, It’s Not Yours. It’s been getting some major airtime on Lightning 100 lately and it’s super groovy!
Cap it all off with beverages from both Cathead Vodka and Blackberry Farms Brewery, and the $75 ticket seems like a steal if you asked us! From the endless oysters, to the abundance of sides and swine, to the sounds of soulful music, you can guarantee you’ll see us at this event! Will we see you there?
