Negroni Week is Back Again...and This Time We are Celebrating EXTRA Hard
Here I am, stressin’ about the big 3-0 coming up in a few short months (it’s okay, really, they say your 30’s are the best of them all) but here comes the Negroni, going ahead and turning ONE HUNDRED! That’s right! As of 2019, our beloved Negroni is 100 years old -- and still looking sharp if I do say so myself.
You can blame it on my Italian background (or blame it on my love for drinking delicious beverages) but I L O V E me a crisp, refreshing, bitter Negroni. I love it in the winter, I love it in the summer, but I especially love it during Negroni Week. And I’m in luck, because It’s only a few short days away - happy early birthday to MOI.
For those of you who aren’t in the know about the Negroni, it’s made up of three simple ingredients: Campari, gin, and vermouth. But you’ll see a lot of twists and variations featured alongside the classic we know and love -- especially next week. Versions may include bourbon and bitters or tequila and dry vermouth; they may be served in a coupe or perhaps in a rocks glass. There are numerous ways to play on the original and so many to try.
Starting Monday, several bars and restaurants across the nation will be participating in the week-long celebration, lasting from June 24 - June 30...and it’s all for a great cause! A portion of the profits from each Negroni sold go to that restaurant’s charity of choice. Strategic Hospitality favorites such as Bastion, Henrietta Red, Pinewood, the Patterson House, and The Band Box will be serving the classic (and a few variations) for the big week alongside some other Nashville favorites of ours (we see you Green Pheasant, Nicky’s Coal Fired, City House, Two Ten Jack - - - and so many more).
